This building was once the Guest Residence for visiting dignitaries, before it was decided that it was more prudent to keep the dignitaries closer at hand, say, in the palace itself. The empty building was immediately given to the medical staff to use as a new infirmary, replacing the too small one in the Military Barrracks.
